Take Meaningful Action here in New Zealand

There are a number of ways You can take action right here in New Zealand. We can join in the global fight for Palestinian Human Rights.

Just like the fight against South African Apartheid, we can fight Israeli Abuses and Apartheid Now. New Zealand was in the lead on taking on South African Apartheid. For some reason, our government is silent. We Can Change That!

We urge you to take action in any way In any way you can. This can be (see tabs to the left for more detail):

Product Boycott
  • Boycott buying Israeli Products
  • Boycott products from companies which enable the Israeli Apartheid system - Hewlett Pakard
  • Boycott Companies who sell Israeli Products
  • Buy BDS stickers and place them on Israeli products in stores
  • Buy BDS stickers and place them on places where people will see them. Bus shelters, pedestrian crossing buttons and poles, etc comes to mind.

Cultural Boycott
  • Boycott events which include Israeli Musicians, Actors, Films, Sports people etc.
  • Contact the venues who have Israeli Musicians Actors, Films and Sports people on the program and ask them to cancel their involvement
  • Picket the venues where events are being held

Academic Boycott
  • Insist that your Tertiary institution does not invite people from Israeli Institutions to speak on your campus.
  • Refuse to support sending representative to Israeli Institutions
  • Students can set up Palestine support groups on campus and call for their student bodies to pass motions supporting the BDS of Israel

Political
  • Email or call your Electorate MP​ to find out where he/she stands on Palestine/Israel
  • Attend events where he/she is speaking and ask those questions in public
  • Email the Foreign Affairs Minister, Party Leaders and MP's on the Foreign Relations committee asking them what they will do about specific cases of Israeli Abuse and breaking of International Law
  • Call for the New Zealand Super Fund to divest from Israeli Companies. So far they refuse to divest from Israeli Banks which are funding the building of Illegal settlements on Palestinian territory. This is called "Pillage" and is Illegal under International Law. Yet NZ Superfund continue business as usual with Israeli banks

Join a Palestine Support group
  • There are a number of Palestine support groups throughout New Zealand (see here)
  • Buy a Palestinain Flag here, a Free Palestine tee shirt here and join one of the rallies which take place on the first Saturday of the month from 2 - 3 pm
  • Get involved with the groups activities by donating time, skills or money
  • Set up a Palestine Human Rights group within your Religious Institution, your Union or other groups you are a part of
